this year because thanksgiving was so very late in november, people didnt have as much time to put up and keep up their lights as they usually do.
i know its only a week's difference...but it made a difference.
before we knew it it was christmas already and now the music has stopped and the lights are coming down...and the thing i hate to see the most.... christmas trees discarded and left at the curb for the garbage man.
I love the entire Christmas season! It always go into a bit of a mourning period when it is over. I leave my Christmas things out for a while, but it's just not the same b/c the spirit is gone. Christmas spirit is the best!
I do shop all year round though for Christmas gifts, whenever I find something that someone in my life will love I buy it. It does help a little. Both financially by avoiding the Christmas crunch as I call it and it keeps me in the spirit, even if it is just a little bit.

ok, so here's a little summary.
i have suffered from depression for quite a while, at varying degrees.
several months ago, i made the decision to stop attending meetings (check out my first posts for the reasons).
I also struggled with deep-rooted depression while I was a dub. I have not been a member for over 12 years now and I have not ever experienced anything close to the depression I experienced as a dub since I have left. Sure maybe a little bit from time to time, but I can always shake it. Depression is very prevalent within the org.

would appreciate your input.. mtsgrad.
I agree, you never forget. You move on, but you don't forget.

while i was an active jw elder, i wouldn't have up until that last year.
that's when i was totally mentally out, just going thru the technicalities.
i still respect other jw's viewpoints on their not accepting blood----although i think they are terribly misguided.
There is no way that I would have at the time, I believed that 100%. I would consider it now but I still have part of that brainwashing in-tact. It would be a difficult decision for me...
MMO
mine is to better organize my stuff and throw sh*t away.
I have a few,
Continue training for a half marathon.
Reach my ideal weight and fitness level.
Continue making my business profitable.
Stay on track with my financial goals.
Travel more (which does not help with my financial goals but hey - I work hard!)
MMO
just thought i would pop in and say "hi" !

i have come to realize that being gay is something you are just born with....so why judge them if it's like being born a certain race.. a brother g_____ i knew was a zealous pioneer pushing 43 years old.
he never married though the sisters thought he was dreamy and he had plenty of offers....."she's not for me" he would always, many times tell me some excuse.
he loved to give only brothers a big hug...say if you gave a public talk or something.
I knew of one young man in another hall that clearly was. I do believe he used to wear a little make up as well. He was beautiful, in a very feminine way. I wonder what ever became of him...

They don't have any symbolism in my life as I do not consider myself religeous. Therefore I don't forsee a situation arising that I would wear one.

That was excellent reasoning with her and hopefully some of it sunk in! She sounds like a fairly level headed person so you just never know what effect this may have on her. Maybe not right away, but I bet it is a nagging thought in the back of her mind (where she tried to keep it!)
Thanks so much for sharing!
